New Year, New You? I would like to think of this phrase more as "New Year, Improved you". I am someone who enjoys New Year's eve every year. It gives a blank slate and a chance to move on. For once a year, you have the chance to start over (of you want) and it is completely accepted. With a new year coming & my last semester of college beginning (yikes!!!) I am hoping to keep a few new promises that I will consider my "resolutions", they are as follow:
1. Be Fit (Maybe try yoga?)
2. Be Kind
3. Be Open To New Possibilities
Let's see how this goes

Indianapolis
I really do love being in a sorority. It may have a bunch of stereotypes, but in the end I believe it creates a strong bond with others and a powerful woman. This past week, I had the honor of representing my chapter at Alpha Gamma Delta's Convention, where woman from around the US and Canada come to celebrate the organization.
Being a part of the Alpha Chapter, I was excited to see all the other chapter delegates, as well as our headquarters.
During this trip, we had workshops, where skills were taught about various topics. Likewise, we had a tremendous amount of events wher we celebrated our organization.
Besides the events during convention, we attended a minor league baseball game, followed by fireworks. We also had the opportunity to explore the amazing city. Also, we attended a philanthropy walk to raise money for Diabetes research.
I was able to take a lot from this trip. I learned how to be an empowered women, plus I learned many new things that I am excited to bring back to my chapter this fall. I met women from all over the country and proud to now call them my friends.
Thank you Alpha Gamma Delta!

Happy Birthday America!
The real kick off to summer, to me, is July 4th. It's the time all BBQs and friends get together and celebrate not only America, but the warm weather and the good memories to come.
This year, weather wasn't too great with a hurricane in the area. There ended up being a lot of rain, but that didn't stop me from celebrating.
When there isn't a chance for an outdoor event, bring it inside! My best friend & I bought some hot dogs and celebrated inside and still had a great time. With luck, the skies cleared up so the fireworks were able to go on!
To end the week, on Sunday. I headed to the beach with my family! It was perfect with the slight breeze and sun. There's nothing I love more than getting an opportunity to head to the beach.
I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!

Pick of The Week: Little Big Town
There is nothing more I love than being outside in summer with all my friends around and good music playing. Recently, I came across this song and think it's great for that summer mindset! It immediately makes me think of being outside with friends kicking back, especially after the beautiful weather this past weekend.

And They're off...
With it being summer, there is always something to so during weekends! This weekend, with the beautiful weather, my friend Tyler and I took on the 146th Belmont Stakes. After jumping on the subway and taking the bus in traffic we finally made it!
Thousands of people were in attendance, in hopes of seeing a possible Triple Crown. It was great with the Belmont backyard where drinks and food were served. Everything around us was exciting, with races going on and the continuous betting. I really didn't understand the act of betting at the moment, with it being my first race attended, but I still managed to follow the races and the excitement was there with everyone around!
The day was full of adventure & definitely worth it! Even though California Chrome didn't win the Triple Crown, I would love to go to another race... Maybe the Kentucky Derby? Preakness?

Ahoy! It's Monday!
I've always been a fan of Mondays (Yes I am one of those people) & with it being summer, I believe you need to take advantage of all the time you can outside. So, I hit up my favorite place in the world, the Piermont Pier! It's great and has a great view of the Hudson River, where you can see the the beautiful city. It also gave me a chance to wear my new romper (aka my obsession of summer... so everyone should get one)
Also, when you get outside you get to see something new! Today, I saw an old Pirate ship sailing down the Hudson and that is definitely something you do not see everyday.
Get outside!

Be You.
I think it's important to love yourself. Not everyone is perfect & with summer being here to stay for a while, it is important to feel comfortable. Recently, I came across some pictures from Cosmopolitan magazine and I think it was really inspirational to see these women view themselves this way. Here are some of my favorites:
